The level of foreign investments in Macedonia over the course of the current year has reduced, but this is not owed to structural problems in the country, but the country's surrounding, said the Foreign Investors Council (FIC) on Monday.
"The lowering of foreign investments results from the fact that Macedonia is part of the global, European and regional ambiance, which makes the maintenance of the level of foreign investments from previous years very difficult. There are promising projects that have been initiated in the free economic zones. The Government has made a lot of efforts, which will lead to increase of foreign investments on the long run, and we are here to provide assistance. We are not planning to leave Macedonia and that is why we are interested in the promotion of new foreign investors, said FIC chairman Daniel Sas at today's press conference.
